While Georgia’s criteria are narrower than those of some other states, the state still hopes to bring some patients relief. Some of these qualifying medical conditions may have additional prerequisites to qualify for a card.
Georgia’s qualifying conditions to get approved for a medical cannabis card include:
Severe or end-stage instances of AIDS
Alzheimer’s disease
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
Autism spectrum disorder (with specific age criteria)
Cancer (particularly end-stage diagnoses or treatment-induced wasting illness)
Crohn’s disease
Epidermolysis bullosa
Intractable pain
Mitochondrial disease
Severe or end-stage multiple sclerosis (MS)
Severe or end-stage Parkinson’s disease
Severe peripheral neuropathy
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) (for patients at least 18 years old)
Seizure disorders linked to epilepsy or trauma-related head injuries
Severe Tourette’s syndrome
Cases where patients are in a hospice program, whether inpatient or outpatient

When an MJCard physician approves you, they’ll complete your patient registration online. You’ll need your Georgia driver’s license or state ID for the doctor to upload.
